Smooth Seas, Sweet Fifteen & a Snowy Homecoming ❄️🚢🎉
Share
Sometimes life has a funny way of reminding you that you can’t plan everything—but you can choose gratitude in every moment.
This past week was one we will never forget. We celebrated Mallory turning 15, sailed the beautiful Carnival Celebration, and came home to a full-blown snowstorm. Three completely different experiences, all wrapped into one unforgettable chapter.
Setting Sail on the Carnival Celebration 🚢
Our cruise on the Carnival Celebration was exactly what our hearts needed. From the moment we stepped on board, the pace of life slowed down. No schedules to chase, no alarms to set—just time together.
The ocean has a way of reminding you how small your worries really are. Watching the waves roll by, feeling the sunshine on our faces, and spending uninterrupted time as a family felt like a gift straight from God. We laughed, ate way too much food, explored the ship, and soaked in moments we didn’t realize we’d been craving so deeply.
Celebrating Mallory’s Sweet 15 🎂
Celebrating Mallory’s 15th birthday at sea made it even more special. Fifteen feels big—one of those in-between ages where childhood slowly gives way to young adulthood.
Watching her smile, laugh, and enjoy every moment reminded me how quickly time passes. One minute you’re holding their hand, and the next you’re celebrating milestones that sneak up on you. I’m so thankful for the chance to celebrate her—her strength, her kindness, and the light she brings into our family.
From Sunshine to Snowstorm ❄️
And then… reality hit.
We returned home from warm ocean air to a snowstorm waiting for us. The contrast was wild—sunshine and palm trees one day, snow-covered roads the next. But honestly? It felt symbolic.
Life is like that. One moment you’re cruising through calm waters, and the next you’re navigating unexpected storms. Both seasons matter. Both teach us something.
Grateful for It All 💙
This trip reminded me just how important it is to pause and soak in the moments—both the joyful and the challenging. The celebrations, the quiet time, the chaos, and even the snowstorm waiting at home.
Through it all, I’m grateful. Grateful for family, for milestones, for rest, and for the reminder that God is steady no matter what the forecast looks like.
Here’s to memories made at sea, birthdays worth celebrating big, and coming home to real life—snow and all.
