A Week of Simple Joys and Full Hearts

Last week was one of those simple, full-hearted weeks that reminds me just how meaningful everyday moments can be.

I spent some much-needed time with my mom, starting with a little shopping trip and lunch together. Nothing fancy—just good conversation, laughter, and being present. One of the highlights was wandering through a used bookstore, the kind where you can lose track of time between the shelves. There’s something special about finding stories that have already lived in someone else’s hands. I ended up coming home with eight new books—each one holding the promise of quiet moments and new perspectives.

Friday was Good Friday, and we spent the day at Dollywood. It was the perfect mix of fun and reflection. The joy, the music, the atmosphere—it all felt like a celebration of life and togetherness, even in a season meant for remembering sacrifice. Sometimes joy and reverence walk hand in hand.

Saturday brought a different kind of excitement—prom shopping. Watching the anticipation, the searching for just the right dress, the little moments of “this might be the one”—it’s such a special season. There’s something beautiful about milestones like that, about stepping into new chapters.

Then Sunday came, and with it, Easter. We gathered at church, surrounded by hope and the message of renewal. Easter has always been a reminder that no matter how heavy things may feel, there is always the promise of new life, new beginnings, and grace. Afterward, we shared lunch with family—more laughter, more stories, more moments to hold onto.

Weeks like this remind me why Shielded Hearts exists. It’s not just about clothing—it’s about carrying love, faith, and connection into the everyday. It’s about protecting what matters most: our hearts, our people, and the moments that shape us.

Here’s to more weeks filled with simple joys, meaningful traditions, and hearts that stay shielded in what truly matters.
