October has always felt like such a special month around here. The leaves begin to change, the air gets a little cooler, and there’s something about fall that makes us want to slow down and enjoy the people God has placed in our lives.

This October, we’re making room for rest, family, creativity, faith, and a whole lot of fall fun. 🍁🤎

🌴 A Little Time Away

Before we jump into everything October has in store, we’re taking some time to step away and enjoy a much-needed family vacation.

Shielded Hearts Clothing Co. will be on vacation October 2nd–11th.

As a small business, it can be easy to get caught up in the orders, messages, planning, designing, and everything that comes with running a business. But we believe there is also value in knowing when to pause.

Rest is a gift.

Family time is a gift.

Making memories is a gift.

And sometimes, slowing down is exactly what we need to remind ourselves that God is in control even when we aren't busy making everything happen.

We'll return refreshed and ready for everything coming later in the month! 🧡

🍁 Gathering Around the Table

One of the things we love most about fall is family.

This month, we're looking forward to a special Family Fall Luncheon—a chance to gather around the table, enjoy good food, laugh together, and simply spend time with the people we love.

There's something special about sharing a meal together.

It's not always about what is on the table. Sometimes it's about the conversations, the stories, the laughter, and those little moments that become memories.

We’re reminded of Psalm 133:1:

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”

In a world that seems to move faster every day, we're thankful for opportunities to put down the phones, sit around the table, and simply be together. 🤎

🎃 Halloween, Faith & Letting Our Light Shine

Of course, October wouldn't be complete without Halloween!

While our family may enjoy the fun parts of the season—costumes, candy, decorations, pumpkins, and spending time together—we also want to approach Halloween with faith at the center.

For us, it's an opportunity to remember that we are called to be a light.

✨ “You are the light of the world.”

— Matthew 5:14

There can be plenty of darkness in the world without us adding to it. Instead, we want our family to focus on kindness, joy, generosity, and being a positive light to the people around us.

Whether you're taking the kids trick-or-treating, handing out candy, attending a fall festival, or simply enjoying a cozy night at home, we hope your Halloween is filled with family, laughter, and memories that point back to what really matters.

🎶 Mallory's Musical Journey

One of the sweetest parts of this season has been watching Mallory grow through her voice lessons. 🎤🤎

There is something incredibly special about watching a child discover a gift God has placed inside them.

Through her voice lessons, Mallory has been learning more than just how to sing. She's learning about confidence, patience, practice, creativity, and using her voice.

And then came something especially exciting…

Yes—Mallory wrote her own song! 🎶

As a parent, moments like this are the ones you want to remember.

Seeing her take something she's learning and turn it into something uniquely hers has been such a joy. It reminds us that sometimes the gifts God gives us begin as tiny little sparks—and with encouragement, practice, and faith, they can grow into something beautiful.

We're so proud of her for stepping outside her comfort zone and putting her own words and heart into a song.

We can't wait to see where this musical journey takes her!

And who knows…maybe there are more songs waiting to be written. 💕🎶

🍂 Finding God in the Ordinary

One of the biggest things October reminds us of is that God is working in every season.

The leaves changing.

A family gathered around a table.

A child learning to use her voice.

A vacation filled with memories.

A silly Halloween costume.

A quiet moment with a cup of coffee.

None of these things may seem extraordinary on their own, but when we slow down enough to notice them, we realize just how many blessings surround us.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.”

— Ecclesiastes 3:11

That's our October reminder:

Don't rush through the season you're in.

There is beauty in the growing seasons, the waiting seasons, the busy seasons, and even the seasons where God is asking us to slow down.

Trust His timing.

Enjoy your family.

Celebrate the little things.
